Testing a new lens = A quick family trip

I cracked my 17-40 f/4L lens into two on my birthday.

Yeah. On my birthday.

Repairing it would cost more than what I paid for it, so it was time for a new lens.

Because I live in a smaller area, it's difficult finding quality used equipment locally. So for the 24-105 f/4L I wanted, I had to travel to Sarasota, which is an hour or so from Fort Myers.

Sure, I could easily buy equipment online, but when it comes to my main tools (camera bodies & lenses) I like to personally get a feel for them before dropping hundreds of dollars.

Since I was already in Sarasota, why not drive another hour to Tampa?

The family and I ended up at the Glazer Children's Museum, which made for some good testing grounds for my new lens.
