Full bio
Stan Chambers Jr. is a knowledge management and internal communications leader who helps complex organizations turn strategy into clear communication, trusted knowledge, and effective employee experiences.
He currently leads content strategy and editorial operations for Gilead Sciences' global HR portal, supporting nearly 30,000 employees and contractors. His work connects HR, IT, communications, UX, analytics, and technology teams to improve content governance, enterprise search, self-service, and digital employee experience.
At Gilead, Stan turned more than 30,000 employee search queries into a content intelligence practice, helped bring 1,400+ policies under a governance framework projected to save about $270,000 a year, and led the adoption of AI tools, including Synthesia, that are changing how employees find and use information. He also rebuilt the newsletter for Gilead's Black employee resource group into an agency-quality communications platform.
Across more than 15 years, Stan's career has spanned investigative journalism, digital newsroom leadership, healthcare advocacy, executive communications, and global content strategy at organizations including GSK and Oracle. He built a digital content team from nothing at WINK News, coached a digital news team that ranked among the top digital newsrooms in a 68-station network, and created the communications strategy that helped secure Medicaid expansion in North Carolina.
Stan calls himself a Creative Griot. In West African tradition, a griot is the storyteller trusted to keep a community's knowledge alive and pass it on. He sees knowledge management and internal communications as the modern version of that role, guided by a simple motto: build what matters, and help others grow within it.
Stan is also the founder of CGSC, an advisory practice where he developed the Enterprise Content Tax Audit, a diagnostic that exposes the hidden costs organizations pay when content, systems, and messaging don't work together. Through CGSC, he publishes Content Cerebrum, which explores content intelligence, employee experience, and AI-ready enterprise knowledge.
His leadership philosophy is rooted in the habits of strong journalism: remain curious, stay close to the work, verify what is true, and never lose sight of the audience.
